I just came home from this year’s Czech Days coronation ceremony. Another Tabor Czech Days Queen has been crowned and folks are enjoying the last of the creepy carnie rides on the midway. I opted to leave around 9:30PM because I still have to work tomorrow. Bright and early, 7:30AM.
While I was at the Polka Mass I spied someone I knew from my past … and we ended up eating together at the Legion Hall together. I opted for a tavern in a bowl (no bun) with mustard mixed in and a load of dill pickles and a tiny scoop of potato salad. I also treated myself to a piece of blueberry pie. And I never eat pie.
And it turns out, this person and her two kids will be moving back to Springfield so her kids can attend Bon Homme High School in the Fall. I’m excited to have her back in the vicinity. Otherwise I have only seen her a handful of times since she has left the area back in the early 1980s.
We all sat together in Sokol Park and watched the Beseda Dancers and the Czech queen candidates do their thing and get crowned.
The best of it all for me was having people tell me how great I looked. Truly was an amazing feeling and I know I will never get tired of hearing them either.
Time for some shut-eye and to finish handing out my birthday invites …. 25 days away.
Truly truly thank YOU all for your amazing support …. five days from today marks my 1-year bandiversary! PEACE OUT!!!!
