Happy Birthday to Me

“In the end what matters most is, How well did you love, How well did you live, How well did you learn to let go.”

-Dalai Lama

Gone are the past 45 years. I have lived through it all. Some good. Some bad. Some totally awesome. Some royally messed up stuff too. Eh, life goes on. But alas, I am ALIVE and still kicking and still have the fire in me to live a long long long life… at least for another 46 years. It will be the year 2059 and I’ll be 92…

Lots to do, see, play with, explore, experience and create.

And with that my friends and followers… here are a few things I have learned in the last 45 years…

  1. Mean people really do suck.
  2. Always give a firm handshake.
  3. Wear your seat belt.
  4. Cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze.
  5. Accept people for who they are.
  6. Do not stay in a relationship just so you won’t be alone.
  7. Never settle.
  8. March to your own beat. No matter what.
  9. Not all babies are cute.
  10. Learn to face danger and be brave enough to overcome it.
  11. Say please and thank you.
  12. Say “you are sorry” and actually mean it.
  13. Eat your fruits and veggies.
  14. Know your boundaries.
  15. Learn to cook for an entire family.
  16. Stand up to bullies. They are everywhere: schools are not the only place they exist. Adult bullies exist at your jobs too!!!

  18. Brush your teeth. Every. Day.
  19. Admit when you are wrong.

  24. If you live in South Dakota, you can skip shaving your legs during the snowy cold winter months.
  25. Get your teeth cleaned by a dentist every six months.
  26. Become a nanny for at least one year of your life. It will enrich your life beyond your wildest dreams.
  27. Stay away from any one who pushes you into something you do not want to do.
  28. Believe/Embrace other religions.
  29. Believe in the awesomeness of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and magical reindeer.

  34. Always celebrate your birthday. Every. Single. Year.
  35. Learn how to have proper manners and be polite.
  36. Pamper yourself once a month.

  100. Thank God every morning. HE has allowed you to live another day!

Here’s to the next 46 years…. Peace out, Amy

My 8-year quest of being BANDED finally happened on June 27, 2012!!! While it will be nice to shed some pounds, my number one goal is to get HEALTHY ... And to get off ALL my diabetic meds and not have to rely on my CPAP at night and for naps. A few years back I made a decision to only surround myself with positive people and I have never looked back. At times I may be snarky perhaps a little wonky and I will apologize right now if I offend anyone as I blog about my life as I know it. Peace & love to all of my wonderful supporters.
