Happy yuletide greetings!
Last night I saw my mom for the first time since November 22nd. She went on a big plane in the sky to see my sister on the other side of the United States for two weeks. And once we hugged she asked how I had been doing with my eating.
Funny she should inquire ….. Because I have been doing AH-MAZINGLY WELL.
I have adjusted nicely with my new 4pm to midnight work schedule at my not-so-new gig … We got a new Food/Beverage Manager in and she has turned the place upside down and over a few flips. She’s made our salad bar very very healthy and our Cafe full of wonderful choices of fresh fruit and yogurt and fruit parfaits and veggies’n dip to purchase now.
Why just tonight, I bought two large fruit containers for a whopping price of four bucks and ate fruit for my dinner. And drank ice water for my entire 8-hour shift. It’s all good for my lap band and my digestive tract!!!
My sleeping still hasn’t gotten used to my new schedule as I had been going to bed around 10pm in the past — prior to getting the gig — but that’s okay… as once I move closer in the next couple of weeks, my sleeping will adjust better too.
I know I am still shedding weight and inches too as my mom and I were at a social event last night and she followed behind me into my apartment. My long-time Eastland leather mules I have had since — gosh — a very long time, were like wayyyy toooooo big for me and I almost tripped in them going down my basement stairs. And the new black pants I bought five weeks ago for my work uniform are already baggy and loose. I have not weighed myself in over two months but that’s ok too. I just like knowing, I’m still doing a great job following the rules. And keeping myself ‘in check.’
But for the six weeks I have been gainfully employed with a steady paycheck every week and getting for sure 40-hours a week now … my eating has been terrific. I do a ton of standing, bending, walking at work …and around my house packing up my life’s treasures that I am using that for my exercise until the cold temps let up a bit … but drinking proper fluids and continuing to eat healthy has been my number one goal since I found a new career opportunity.
Practice kindness wherever you go.
