It’s Been a Fast 2 Years

10172818_10152091417782875_8365692762973029238_nIn two mere months I will be celebrating my 2-year lap band anniversary. It’s been an amazing rollercoaster of ups and downs of trying to figure out how this journey has been for me. But I am happy to report that I am still losing weight and most importantly, still losing inches and fat. And I’m okay with the slowness of all of this too. I still have a long ways to go to get to the maintenance level I want to be at but I attempt to make good healthy eating choices each and every day.

What I am lacking is exercise. When my life changed for the better six months ago, some how exercise took a back seat. At my job now of six months, I do get in a lot of movement: walking, standing, bending, cleaning, using the vacuum and a lot of drinking oodles of water and drinking hot green tea. However, I will start-up walking outdoors again now that winter is almost gone from the Dakota Territory.

Yesterday while shopping with my mom … I just picked up the basic necessities to put in my cupboards and fridge/freezer. Right now I’m into eating a lot of Greek yogurt, tomatoes, celery, lettuce, peanut butter, apples/oranges… and cheese/sweet potato crackers. Water and green tea are my go to drinks.

To keep myself from venting not so pleasant thoughts and feeding on gossip, I decided to start a new facebook page called “Being Grateful Project.” The link is https://www.facebook.com/beingrateful — it is a place where I can daily form my thoughts about what has made me grateful for that particular day. And I invite everyone in the universe to take the time to write about their blessings too. Spread the word — We all deserve to be motivated by others and strangers alike!

So this June 27th — marks my 2 years of choosing to better myself and my body. Two years of positive thinking and choosing to eat healthy. Thank you all for your ongoing support!

My 8-year quest of being BANDED finally happened on June 27, 2012!!! While it will be nice to shed some pounds, my number one goal is to get HEALTHY ... And to get off ALL my diabetic meds and not have to rely on my CPAP at night and for naps. A few years back I made a decision to only surround myself with positive people and I have never looked back.
