This past weekend, while grocery shopping, I had picked up a family size bag of snap peas. Up until I bought them, I have always LOVED loved loved snap peas. Eaten raw or with a little dip …or even fried in stir-fry…
With the constant changes with my lap band, I never truly know if a certain food I used to love to eat will work now. And sadly, I can no longer eat snap peas. The reasoning? I cannot chew them enough to swallow them right. I really put up a good fight to keep eating them but I was having issues with how stringy they ended up being. For me.
And the hummus I had been eating — and thoroughly loving… See ya later chick peas! My current go-to dip has been Greek plain yogurt with a dry Ranch packet mixed in. So much healthier and oh so delicious. I am happy that my mom lives nearby … she is now the owner of said snap peas and my brand new container of spinach and artichoke hummus too.
I did not get in a walk today… earlier this AM … 3:33AM to be exact I got sick at work… drove home and was asleep by 4:15AM and slept till almost 1PM … my entire head is full of allergies and muck. I slept more this afternoon. The wind has been pretty wicked all day so I decided to avoid going out again in this wind.
